Raised in a family of little or no means, the prospects for the future looked dismal until the family Doctor offered them a way out through the world of music. Darsell would spend the next fifteen years of his life as a professional entertainer. At age 21 the world changed when Darsell was told by a doctor that he had approximately one year to live.
This life threatening diagnosis forced him to make the decision to leave the music industry in order to save his life.
The events that would follow would change him forever. He discovered that the difference between an ordinary life and an extraordinary life boiled down to a single word, Purpose.
During his 10 year recovery, Darsell discovered what the power of purpose can do, and the role purpose plays in our lives.
He studied the lives of people who had discovered their lives purpose in and the service they would deliver to humanity. People like Mahatma Gahndi, Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, and Mother Theresa to name a few. Their lives were enriched many times over when they found the thing that brought such passion to their lives.
During and after his recovery, Darsell founded numerous ventures in differing fields such as construction, manufacturing, ground transportation, venture capital, consulting, speaking and more. These businesses taught Darsell the true value of service and the benefit of building long-term collaborative relationships.
